Welcome to the Pennsylvania Reemployment Bonus Demonstration Public Use Data CD. This document provides basic information about the files on this CD. Clicking on underlined blue text in the sections below will link you to that document.

Acrobat Reader is required for many documents on this CD. If you do not have Acrobat Reader on your system, you may install it from this CD following the instructions in the "Installing Acrobat Reader" section below.

The contents of this CD are listed in the CDcontents document. A brief overview of the data can be found in the data summary.

The REPORTS subdirectory contains the executive summary, final report, and data documentation.

The "Upjohn Institute Created Files" folder within the DATA subdirectory contains the data, contents, and variable means for the Recsfile and Survfile datasets. The datasets can be found in Stata version 6.0 format (.dta file), SAS export/transport format (.xpt file), and comma-delimited text format (.txt file). For those using the SAS export/transport files, the file Import.sas contains a sample program to import the SAS export file into the user's SAS system.

The document Recsfile_contents lists the contents of the Recsfile data set, and Recsfile_means contains the variable means and frequencies. Similarly, the Survfile_contents and Survfile_means documents list the contents and means for the Survfile data set.

Data documentation for the Recsfile and Survfile datasets can be found in the REPORTS subdirectory on the CD. Please note that this documentation was originally written for SAS files provided on 9-track tape. These are the same files provided in the text, SAS export, and Stata formats on the CD. All variables remain as described in the original documentation, although they may be listed in a different order than that given in the documentation. Please note that the SAS PROC CONTENTS and PROC MEANS referred to in the documentation have been extracted into separate files, described above, and can be found in the "Upjohn Institute Created files" folder within the DATA subdirectory.

The IMAGES subdirectory contains the header image used in this file. This directory does not contain any information about the demonstration itself.
