Economist
The W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research invites applied economists with a PhD and at least three years of experience to apply for a full-time research position.
The Institute is an endowed, nonprofit research organization that conducts independent, nonpartisan research on labor-related issues. Its endowment allows staff economists to pursue topics of their choosing within the Institute's mission of conducting and disseminating research relevant to labor market structure and policies. Staff economists are also expected to spend part of their time conducting projects sponsored by government agencies, nonprofits, or foundations.
The Institute is searching for candidates who have demonstrated strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to address policy-relevant issues. Applicants must have published in peer-reviewed journals and be able to communicate research results through non-technical publications.
