  Disability & Workers' Compensation
The Institute's interests in social insurance includes the nation's disability programs and workers' compensation insurance. Recently, the Social Security Administration awarded a contract to a team of researchers, including Institute staff, for a nationwide study designed to estimate the number and characteristics of disabled adults in the U.S. This landmark study will allow SSA policymakers to better understand current and potential growth patterns in disability program caseloads.

In the workers' compensation area, projects have included WC design and administration studies in the State of Michigan, British Columbia, Canada, and Victoria, Australia.
